Dragged down by declines for shares of UnitedHealth and Travelers, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Tuesday afternoon. Shares of UnitedHealth UNH and Travelers TRV have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA was most recently trading 129 points lower (-0.4%). UnitedHealth’s shares are off $12.54, or 2.4%, while those of Travelers have dropped $4.38 (2.4%), combining for a roughly 112-point drag on the Dow. McDonald’s MCD, Amgen AMGN, and Merck MRK are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
