The Dow Jones Industrial Average is slumping Thursday afternoon with shares of JPMorgan Chase and Travelers delivering the stiffest headwinds for the blue-chip average. The Dow DJIA, +0.28% was most recently trading 681 points lower (-2.0%), as shares of JPMorgan Chase JPM, -2.78% and Travelers TRV, -2.14% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline. JPMorgan Chase’s shares are down $8.42, or 5.7%, while those of Travelers have dropped $6.18, or 3.6%, combining for an approximately 96-point drag on the Dow. Dow Inc. DOW, -2.08%, Boeing BA, +1.02%, and American Express AXP, -0.32% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
