The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Tuesday morning with shares of Chevron and Caterpillar facing the biggest declines for the index. Shares of Chevron CVX and Caterpillar CAT have contributed to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA was most recently trading 111 points, or 0.4%, lower. Chevron’s shares are off $4.14 (2.5%) while those of Caterpillar are off $4.50, or 2.4%, combining for an approximately 57-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Dow Inc. DOW, 3M MMM, and Honeywell International Inc. HON. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
