Hargreaves Lansdown PLC HL, -4.23%, an investment advisors company, and real estate developers company Rightmove PLC RMV, -4.22% rounded out the top five largest decreases as their stocks dropped 4.23% and 4.22%, respectively.
ITV PLC ITV, +2.55%, a broadcasting company, saw the largest increase of the FTSE 100 constituents, as shares rallied 2.48% on Wednesday.
Shares of major oil & gas firm BP PLC BP, +2.25% and passenger airlines company International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. IAG, +1.93% increased 2.25% and 1.93%, respectively.
Pershing Square Holdings Ltd. PSH, +1.87%, a closed-end funds company, and investment advisors business abrdn PLC ABDN, +1.83% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rallied 1.87% and 1.83%, respectively.
The pound was down 0.85% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.01% at $1.1226 and was up 0.03% against the euro UK:GBPEUR at €1.1487.
Brent crude US:BRN00 rose 1.1% to $91.06, and the yield on the 10-year gilt TMBMKGB-10Y, 3.877% fell 7.060 basis points to 3.877%.
