Caterpillar’s shares have declined $11.29 (4.9%) while those of Travelers have fallen $3.90 (2.3%), combining for an approximately 100-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include 3M MMM, +0.04%, Dow DOW, +0.70%, and JPMorgan Chase JPM, +0.15%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
