Shares of American Express and Nike are seeing declines Monday afternoon, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average selloff. The Dow DJIA, -1.93% was most recently trading 554 points, or 1.7%, lower, as shares of American Express AXP, -7.99% and Nike NKE, -5.14% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline. American Express’s shares have fallen $10.98 (6.4%) while those of Nike are down $5.85 (4.5%), combining for an approximately 111-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include McDonald’s MCD, -4.87%, Walt Disney DIS, -5.13%, and Boeing BA, -6.45%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
